Khimar and Jilbab

Our khimar and jilbab range, designed for comfort and elegance. Easy to wear and care for. Soft jersey, light chiffon or matt crepe.

What is the difference between a khimar and a jilbab?

The khimar is a veil that covers the head, the shoulders and part of the upper body. It generally reaches the waist or a little lower. The khimar wraps around you well, but leaves the arms visible.

It is easy to put on, often with no buttonholes, and allows good freedom of movement thanks to its loose shape. We offer khimars in different sizes and light fabrics, perfect for everyday wear and offering elegant modesty. The jilbab is a long, loose dress that covers the whole body, from the shoulders to the feet.

Unlike the khimar, the jilbab fully covers the arms and the legs. It acts like a protective coat, which makes it an ideal garment for going out or for situations where you want to be fully covered with assured dignity. Our jilbabs are designed to stay comfortable while offering maximum coverage and complete discretion.

In short, the khimar covers mainly the upper part of the body and the head, whereas the jilbab clothes the whole body. Depending on your needs, you can choose the khimar for a style that is simpler and more practical, or the jilbab for full coverage that respects Islamic precepts. We have both options to give you a comfortable garment that is suited to what you are looking for.

How do you care for and wash a khimar or a jilbab to make it last?

To keep your khimar or your jilbab looking good for a long time, always wash it in cold water. Hot water can damage the fabric and make the colours fade. Use a mild detergent, designed especially for delicate clothes, so as not to weaken the material.

We advise you to wash your khimar or jilbab by hand. This prevents the fabric from stretching or being damaged in the machine. If you prefer the machine, put the garment in a laundry bag and choose a delicate programme.

Never use fabric softener, as it can make the fabric less breathable and damage the fibres. To dry, avoid the tumble dryer, which can shrink or distort your jilbab. Lay it flat or on a hanger in the shade, away from direct sunlight, which dulls the colours.

To iron, use a low or medium temperature, and place a thin cloth between the iron and the garment so as not to scorch the fabric. Always store your khimar or jilbab somewhere clean and dry to avoid bad smells and stains. Well cared for, your garment will stay soft and sturdy, ready to accompany you for a long time.

When can you wear a khimar or a jilbab?

The khimar and the jilbab cover you completely, which is practical for the mosque or when you do your prayer at home. You can wear them every time you go out, because they protect well from the sun and the wind, whether you are going out for the shopping or taking the children to school. When you have visitors and want to stay comfortable while being well covered, the khimar or the jilbab are perfect, because they are loose and do not cling to the body.

They are also very useful for special occasions such as the celebrations of Eid or a wedding, especially if you choose an elegant design with intricate details and a refined finish. Many women also like to wear them for travel, because they are easy to put on and to adjust, even in a car or on a train. We offer light fabrics for summer so that you never suffer from the heat, and thicker fabrics for winter that keep you nice and warm.

So you can choose your khimar or your jilbab according to where you are going, the day’s weather and the planned activity. If you are looking for an outfit that is just as easy to wear but with a slightly different style, discover our selection of abayas. You will find perfect designs for everyday or big occasions. All our oriental and Islamic clothing combines comfort, style and respect for the values of decency and modesty.
